If there's one thing that the metropolitan city of Chongqing in Southwestern China is renowned for around the world, it is Chongqing hotpot style. It is especially famous for its Yin-Yang hotpot which combines the Sichuan Mala (麻辣) sauce, famed because of its distinctive flavor and aroma, with nutritious and smooth-tasting home-made broth.
After finding out for ourselves on how amazing this Chongqing-style hotpot is, we felt that we would be remiss if we don't share this fantastic hotpot style with our fellow citizens in Indonesia.
Everything in the menu is styled and presented exactly like how diners in Chongqing would have experienced them, and we are proud of the fact that there is not a single thing we changed from the original Chongqing recipe that made it world-famous today.
Located at the trendy North Jakarta suburb of Pantai Indah Kapuk (or better known as PIK), Highstyle Hotpot PIK is the first of its kind in Indonesia alongside 60 other locations in China and 1 location at the Tsim-Sha-Tsui neighbourhood in Hong Kong, all of which have already established themselves in their own respective communities.
It is a one-of-a-kind dining experience that everyone should at least try once in their lifetime. And maybe more.
